The Darlington Regulatory Program Division is recruiting Senior Regulatory Program Officer for the Darlington New Nuclear Project.
The results of this process may be used to staff future positions with similar qualifications and various tenures including term, acting, assignment and indeterminate.

What you'll do:
As a Senior Regulatory Program Officer, you will be responsible for the following activities:
- Lead the development of annual power reactor licensing and compliance work plans and manage their delivery
- Evaluate facility performance, recommend enforcement actions, and monitor to assure completion
- Lead the review of the power reactor licence application for the Darlington New Nuclear Plant within a designated Safety and Control Area
- Manage assigned licensing and compliance projects
- Provide divisional and directorate support
- Coach, train, and mentor more junior employees
Education:
- University degree in science or engineering or an equivalent combination of education, experience and relevant job knowledge.
- Extensive training or experience in the design, operation, or safety analysis of nuclear power reactors.
Language Requirements:
English essential
Experience:
- Collaborating and/or leading in multi disciplinary technical and regulatory teams
- Developing detailed licensing and compliance with work plans aligned with regulatory requirements and safety and control areas.
- Assessing complex facility performance using the Safety and Control Areas (SCAs).
- Performing, documenting and/or reviewing complex safety analysis results and reports for nuclear power plants (NPPs)
- Experience as a Project Manager
Knowledge of:
- Canadian regulatory frameworks (Nuclear Safety and Control Act (NSCA), regulations, statutes, regulatory documents) and the legal aspects of enforcement.
- Reactor design, construction, commissioning, operation, maintenance, testing, safety assessment, and licensing.
- Analytical codes and processes used to produce deterministic (DSA) and/or probabilistic safety analyses (PSA) for NPPs
- Safety and control areas, licensing, and regulatory compliance.
- Knowledge of Class I facility systems, equipment, documentation, and licence conditions.
- Project management principles.
Ability to:
- Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing with the ability to adapt to all audiences.
- Prepare and review technical reports
- Exercise sound, evidence based judgment in assessing regulatory and safety risks and in determining appropriate compliance and oversight actions

Professional Engineer designation
Experience providing recommendations to senior management
Operational Needs:All CNSC staff are subject to the Mobility Directive.
This position requires frequent travel.
Overtime may be required.
