Senior RAN/RF Expert - (Digital Twin, NVIDIA Aerial, Omniverse, AI, ML) EU passport

Location: Sweden (Hybrid/Remote possible)

Start date: ASAP
Contract: Consultant/Freelance (long-term project)
Length: 6-12 month
EU passport needed

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced RAN/RF expert to support the creation and validation of a Digital Twin of the radio network (eg, NVIDIA Aerial Omniverse concept).

The customer's network is already operating at a high maturity level (TMF Level 4 Autonomous Network), and the Digital Twin will be used for advanced modelling, simulation, and what-if analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert support in RAN performance engineering and optimization (4G/5G)
  • Contribute to building a Digital Twin model of the RAN network for simulation and decision support
  • Apply strong RF propagation knowledge for accurate modelling (outdoor & indoor)
  • Support network analysis using KPIs (coverage, throughput, mobility, interference)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on requirements and validation of model accuracy

Required Skills & Experience (Must-have)

  • Strong hands-on experience as RAN Engineer/RF Optimizer (LTE + 5G NR)
  • Solid understanding of radio propagation:
  • outdoor propagation, terrain/clutter effects
  • indoor propagation/penetration modelling
  • Experience with RAN optimisation and troubleshooting:
  • Coverage gaps, interference, mobility issues, HO tuning, KPI analysis
  • Ability to work with limited initial requirements and support discovery discussions

Preferred/Nice-to-have

  • Experience with Digital Twin, network simulation, or modelling tools
  • Exposure to NVIDIA Aerial/Omniverse or similar simulation environments
  • AI/ML knowledge (eg, predictive optimization, anomaly detection)
  • Python/data analytics experience
  • Nordic operator experience is a plus
