Grade: Grade 7

Purpose Of The Role

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the overall management, strategic coordination and successful delivery of the €8m cross-border, multi-partner Multi-disciplinary Ocean Sensing for Adaptive International Conservation (MOSAIC) Project. MOSAIC is supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB). The role will ensure that all technical, administrative, financial and stakeholder engagement aspects of the project are delivered on time, within budget and in full compliance with PEACEPLUS Programme requirements.

This is a strategic leadership post requiring outstanding project management skills and experience in delivering complex marine or environmental programmes involving multiple jurisdictions and international partners.

Applicants must demonstrate that they possess the following criteria, by the closing date for applications. Each essential criteria will be applied.

1. Educational/Professional Qualification:

Honours degree (Level 6 UK / Level 8 IE) in a relevant field (e.g. marine science, project management, environmental policy, conservation, natural resource management) AND at least 5 years' demonstrable experience in project management of large- scale projects or programmes.

Have achieved Practitioner level qualification in a recognised Programme or Project Management methodology (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP or MSP)

2. Project Delivery Experience:

Minimum 5 years' experience managing teams and resources using a formal project management methodology (e.g. PRINCE2, PMBOK).

Demonstrable experience of managing significant budgets (e.g. >£1m) and complex financial reporting.

Proven track record of delivering multi-partner or cross-jurisdictional projects.

3. Key Skills and Capabilities:

High-level decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement abilities.

Strong competency in risk management, change management and strategic planning.

Full and clean driving licence held for at least 2 years with no more than 6 penalty points.

Some or all of the following criteria MAY be used in the event of a large number of suitably qualified applications.

Experience managing EU-funded projects (e.g., INTERREG, PEACEPLUS, Horizon Europe).

Experience working in marine, environmental or biodiversity-focused projects.

Experience in public sector governance and procurement.

Familiarity with SEUPB funding and compliance procedures.
