Job Description
Role summary

EBO is seeking an experienced Project Manager to take on the Implementation of our UK client projects with a primary focus on the deployment of our Intelligent Patient Portal (IPP). This role will also incorporate the monitoring and support of Product Adoption once the product is live. These projects will include integration and adoption via NHS login and the NHS App. This hybrid role therefore combines endtoend project management with responsibility for driving product usage, optimisation and expansion across NHS and other healthcare providers.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead implementation projects for EBO's Intelligent Patient Portal with NHS Trusts and other providers, from discovery through go-live and stabilisation.
  • Plan and manage deployment of IPP journeys such as appointment management, waiting list validation, assessments and e-correspondence, ensuring they are configured to local pathways and KPIs.
  • Own project governance: scope, milestones, RAID, reporting and stakeholder forums with clinical, operational, digital and IT teams.
  • Coordinate technical delivery teams to implement secure, standards-compliant integrations with EPR/PAS and related systems, including real-time bidirectional data flows and writeback.
  • Lead projects to integrate and surface the Intelligent Patient Portal through NHS login and the NHS App (e.g. via Wayfinder/MIv2), ensuring smooth authentication and patient journeys that meet national design and safety standards.
  • Work with client digital teams to plan and execute adoption strategies for NHS App and NHS login routes, including communication, training and change management activities for staff and patients.
  • Work with the Customer Success team to monitor live usage of the portal, including channel shift, digital uptake, completion rates and impact on call volumes, DNAs and waiting lists; agree actions with clients to improve performance and patient experience.
  • Translate client feedback, usage data and pathway insights into structured requirements and stories for EBO's central Product team, acting as the UK "voice of the customer."
  • Identify and shape opportunities to expand IPP usage within each organisation, including new specialties, pathways and modules (e.g. mental health, community, elective care). Liaise with the EBO Benefits team to build simple business cases with measurable benefits.
  • Ensure all delivery and adoption activities comply with information governance, security, clinical safety and data protection requirements relevant to NHS and UK healthcare.
Candidate profile
  • Significant experience delivering digital or SaaS solutions into healthcare, ideally NHS Trusts or ICBs, in roles such as Implementation Manager, Digital Project Manager, or Transformation Lead.
  • Strong track record of managing multistakeholder projects, including clinicians, operational managers, IT, IG and external vendors.
  • Working knowledge of NHS login and the NHS App, and experience (or strong familiarity) with projects integrating third-party services via these channels.
  • Comfortable interpreting usage analytics and operational data to drive decisions on optimisation, training, configuration or additional deployment phases.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to explain complex digital journeys in clear, nontechnical language to clinical and patient stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with agile or hybrid delivery methods and tooling (e.g. JIRA, Trello, delivery dashboards) and with documenting requirements and user stories.
Essential qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent experience (business, healthcare, IT or related).
  • Project management training or certification (e.g. PRINCE2, AgilePM, PMP, Scrum).
Desirable qualifications
  • Postgraduate study in digital health, informatics, service design or similar.
  • Training in business analysis, service design or UX for digital health.
Essential skills
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship building.
  • Clear written and verbal communication for clinical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Good organisation and prioritisation across multiple projects.
  • Proactive, ownership mindset and genuine interest in improving care through digital.
Essential experience
  • End-to-end delivery of digital/SaaS solutions for NHS or healthcare providers.
  • Managing multistakeholder projects (clinical, operational, IT) with formal governance.
  • Working with product or digital teams to turn requirements and feedback into changes.
  • Driving adoption and measured benefits of digital services (e.g. channel shift, fewer calls, reduced DNAs).
  • Exposure to NHS login, NHS App or local patient portals/digital front doors.
  • Using analytics/dashboards to spot issues and improvement opportunities.
  • Leading change activities: engagement, comms, training, embedding new workflows.
Desirable experience
  • Implementing or optimising patient portals or digital front doors in the NHS.
  • Working with EPR/PAS integrations and standards such as HL7 or FHIR.
  • Experience with AI or automation products (e.g. conversational AI, virtual assistants).
  • Time spent in a healthtech startup/scaleup environment.
  • Creating and refining repeatable implementation playbooks used across multiple sites.
What success looks like
  • Intelligent Patient Portal successfully deployed and embedded at UK client sites, surfaced reliably through NHS login and the NHS App with high digital uptake.
  • Measurable improvements in patient access, channel shift and operational efficiency (e.g. reduced inbound calls, lower DNAs, validated waiting lists) agreed and evidenced with each client.
  • Clear, repeatable playbooks for IPP deployment and NHS App/NHS login adoption that can be reused across new Trusts and regions.
  • Regular, structured feedback loops from UK clients into EBO's product roadmap, resulting in new or enhanced modules that further improve patient engagement and workforce capacity.
  • If you share a passion for transforming patient engagement and understand the realities of delivering digital change in the NHS, this role offers the opportunity to shape how the EBO Intelligent Patient Portal is implemented and adopted at scale across the UK.
