Role Northern Trust Asset Management (NTAM) is a global investment management firm entrusted by investors worldwide to help navigate evolving market conditions and achieve their long-term investment objectives. Reporting to the EMEA Chief Operating Officer, the Senior Project Manager will lead and deliver strategic business transformation initiatives across the Asset Management business. Sitting within the global Platform Innovation function, the role is responsible for driving complex, high-impact programmes from concept through implementation, accelerating NTAM's strategic priorities and competitive advantage. Working in close partnership with Investments, Product, Distribution, Technology, Data, Risk and COO teams, the successful candidate will lead the delivery of business, regulatory, operational and technology-driven change initiatives, ensuring scalable and sustainable solutions that enhance client outcomes, operational efficiency and business resilience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the execution of strategic business transformation and AI-enabled initiatives that support growth, scalability, efficiency and operational resilience.
  • Manage complex, cross-functional programmes from initiation through implementation, ensuring alignment to business objectives and successful delivery against agreed outcomes.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to define programme scope, objectives, roadmaps, milestones, dependencies and governance frameworks.
  • Assess and enhance operating models, business processes and control environments to support evolving business and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with business, technology and data teams to design future-state operating models and implement digital, data and automation solutions.
  • Build compelling business cases and fact-based recommendations to support strategic decision-making and prioritisation.
  • Drive delivery across multiple workstreams, ensuring risks, issues and dependencies are effectively managed and escalated where appropriate.
  • Develop and deliver executive-level reporting, including Steering Committee materials, Working Group updates and enterprise governance reporting.
  • Partner with Compliance and Risk functions to ensure programmes are aligned with regulatory requirements and industry developments.
  • Communicate programme strategy, progress and outcomes effectively to both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Lead engagement through relevant Change Management, Architecture and Governance forums.
  • Foster strong relationships across global stakeholders to deliver business priorities in a collaborative and efficient manner.
Required Experience and Skills
  • 10+ years' experience within the investment management industry, including a proven track record delivering strategic business change within large or mid-sized asset managers.
  • Strong programme and project management expertise, with the ability to structure and execute complex, multi-disciplinary initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of asset management operating models across front, middle and back-office functions.
  • Strong knowledge of investment products, asset classes, fund structures and operational processes.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering transformation, operating model redesign, business process improvement and efficiency initiatives.
  • Strong business analysis skills, including process mapping, workflow design and target operating model development.
  • Knowledge of investment management technology platforms, data environments and cloud-based solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at senior levels.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors and strategic partners.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, including the ability to engage and influence executive audiences.
  • Strategic and consultative mindset, with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • AI-forward mindset with an interest in leveraging emerging technologies to improve productivity, efficiency and business outcomes.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Global perspective with an appreciation for cultural diversity and international business practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience within investment management, asset management or financial services.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex business transformation, strategic change and programme delivery initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of investment products, asset classes, fund structures and associated operational processes.
