Your roleOur Senior Product Director, Clinical Trial Site Management will act as technology disruption thought leaders, accountable for partnering with business stakeholders to reimagine end-to-end ways of working using technology. They are accountable for curating, championing, and managing a 3-year product vision for a dynamic portfolio of technology products and owning these products across the entire lifecycle, working in partnership with internal and external technology delivery partners.
What you will doAs the Senior Product Director for Clinical Trial Site Management, you will own the product strategy for the critical technology ecosystem that enables how we select, manage, and collaborate with our clinical trial sites and engage with study participants. You will be accountable for setting the vision and roadmap across two capabilities:
- Site Enablement and Operations: Making GSK the easiest sponsor to work with. This includes site contracting, site relationship management, country intelligence, and the tools that support Phase I clinical unit operations, from bed scheduling to volunteer recruitment.
- Participant Experience: Creating a modern, patient-centric trial experience. You will drive the strategy for our e-Consent solutions and innovative patient engagement technologies.
Your mandate will be to drive a cohesive strategy that innovates with AI and automation to reduce manual effort, and simplifies the technology landscape to create a superior, data-driven experience for our site partners and the patients they serve.
Your responsibilities- Strategic Vision and Business Case Development: Define and champion a 3-year transformative vision for how technology (including AI) can radically accelerate drug development. You will identify and articulate major strategic opportunities, translate them into robust business cases that quantify value, and secure executive-level sponsorship for your portfolio.
- People Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Product Owners and Product Designers, fostering a culture of autonomy, business transformation, user-centricity, agile and continuous learning.
- Business Disruption and Process Reimagination: Lead your team to act as catalysts for change, partnering with senior business leaders to fundamentally reimagine and re-engineer end-to-end R&D processes.
- Strategic Portfolio and Investment Management: Own the strategic curation and financial oversight of your product portfolio. Make critical investment, prioritization, and decommissioning decisions to ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
- Executive Stakeholder Influence: Serve as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to VPs and senior leadership within Development and CMO.
- Enterprise Collaboration and Ecosystem Integration: Partner with Senior Product Director peers to co-create and drive a unified, end-to-end technology strategy. Align roadmaps and eliminate technological fragmentation.
- Delivery Excellence and Partner Ecosystem Oversight: Provide strategic oversight for the delivery of your product portfolio, ensuring the delivery engine is efficient, scalable, and capable of executing with quality and speed.
- Quality, Risk & Compliance: Ensure the portfolio is secure, resilient, and adheres to technology policies and external regulations from day one. Own proactive risk management and business continuity strategy.
- Master's degree or equivalent in a scientific area (e.g., computer science, engineering, mathematics) or related quantitative discipline.
- Demonstrated experience leading technology-focused transformation initiatives.
- Proven track record of progressive experience in digital product management, including leading product teams.
- Significant experience in the life sciences industry.
- Executive Influence and Stakeholder Management: Build trusted partnerships with senior executives to drive complex technology decisions.
- Leadership and Team Development: Lead, mentor, and scale a team of product leaders in a global, matrixed organization.
- Strategic Technology Vision: Deep command of emerging technology, especially Generative AI and machine learning.
- Business Transformation Leadership: Lead people and organizations through large-scale, technology-enabled change.
- Strategic Product and Portfolio Management: Own and manage a portfolio of digital products, creating roadmaps, business cases, and managing budgets.
- Strategic Problem-Solving: Navigate complexity and create clarity and strategic direction.
- Domain Expertise: Direct experience within Pharmaceutical R&D, clinical development, or a related scientific domain.
- Business Knowledge: Deep expertise in trial site operations and patient engagement regulations, processes, and technology.
