Job Description
Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Primary Care Nurse to join our team at HMP Leeds, a category B male prison located in Leeds. HMP Leeds is a busy remand prison with high turnover of inmates, resulting in a fast paced, challenging, but exciting environment.

Hours

This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week, both day and night shifts.

Day Shifts: 07:00-20:30
Night Shifts: 20:00-07:30

Salary

£43,609 - £49,175 per annum, depending on experience.

Main duties
  • Lead a multi disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions
  • Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening
  • Provide evidence based care, listening to and acting on patient feedback to personalise care
  • Deliver non judgemental care that makes a real difference
  • Forge strong links with partners and stakeholders to provide a trusted service
  • Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence based care and continuous quality improvement
  • Share knowledge and skills to ensure safe care and support a strong multi disciplinary team

Qualifications
  • Registered nurse (Adult)
  • Current professional qualification (NMC)
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Understanding of the complexities of multi disciplinary and multi agency working
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proactive problem solving skills
  • Motivated as an individual and within a team
Desirable Experience
  • Experience in a hospital, community or prison environment
