The Senior Price Reporter, EMEA Oil - Middle Distillates, is responsible for day to day reporting on middle distillates markets in Europe and Africa. This role reports to the London based oil pricing team and works with colleagues in London, Singapore, Houston and New York.
Responsibilities and Impact- Drive oil pricing coverage in Europe, applying Platts methodology.
- Assess markets by surveying participants, publishing price updates, launching new assessments, and representing Platts at industry events.
- Write high quality commentaries on market assessments, meeting editorial standards.
- Report news and analysis, developing ideas for graphics, podcasts, webinars; produce insightful stories for a wide audience.
- Engage with market sources: nurture new sources, maintain relationships, update source lists, and send meeting summaries to manager and colleagues.
- Collaborate closely with the news desk, the Price Reporting Manager and global offices.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Strong spoken and written communication skills in English; speaking Russian a plus.
- Understanding of physical oil markets.
- Strong numeracy; ability to use algebra, statistics and basic maths functions in MS Excel.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a wide range of personas.
- Capability to meet tight deadlines and work well in a team environment.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
