What you ll do

As Senior Practice Tutor, you will support the delivery of a postgraduate training programme for clinicians working with children and young people, focusing on Interpersonal Psychotherapy for Adolescents (IPT-A). The role involves teaching, supervising, and assessing trainees, facilitating small group sessions, and contributing to curriculum development. It also includes supporting trainee wellbeing, ensuring academic standards, and participating in departmental meetings, all within a hybrid working model and in collaboration with University College London.

What you ll bring

Essential skills and experience:

Qualified and accredited: a recognised core mental health qualification and IPT-A accreditation (IPT UK).

Experienced: extensive clinical experience with children, young people, and families, plus significant experience supervising in IPT-A.

Educator and trainer: proven ability to deliver clinical training or university-level teaching.

Supportive and inclusive: skilled in supporting students, culturally aware, and committed to inclusive learning environments.

Flexible and organised: able to manage workload independently, meet deadlines, and take annual leave outside term time.

Key details

Hours: Part-time (7 hours per week): usually on Mondays during term time. There may be occasions where you are requested, or you may request, to work flexibly and on a different day of the week to support peak points in the academic cycle, e.g. to meet marking deadlines.

Salary: £52,000 per annum FTE, plus 6% contributory pension scheme.

Location: Hybrid working (a mixture of onsite and home/remote working). Staff are working onsite for at least 20% of their working hours at our London site (4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH). Flexibility will be required to attend in-person teaching days during term time.

Contract type: Permanent.
