Job Opportunity: Senior Physicist/Consultant

Join our Assurance, Technology and Regulation (AT&R) performance unit, a vital part of our Technology and Consulting business, providing critical services to the nuclear industry for over 60 years. We are seeking a full-time Senior Physicist/Consultant to support our Reactor and Radiation Physics Team at our Birchwood office in Cheshire.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assess safety cases and design technical cases related to nuclear propulsion and civil nuclear sectors.
2. Provide independent nuclear safety and technical assessments, delivering formal reports to relevant committees.
3. Perform assurance activities, including physics trails and testing.
4. Contribute to research projects in reactor physics and related technologies.
5. Represent the team at safety and technical meetings with clients and stakeholders.
6. Apply your expertise to other projects, including shielding and criticality assessments for civil nuclear clients.

Relevant Experience:

• Criticality and radiation shielding assessment.
• Reactor plant physics analysis and performance.
• Independent nuclear safety assurance and safety case assessment.
• Criticality safety analysis, radiation shielding, and mathematical modeling.

Additional Skills:

• Experience with physics analysis codes.
• Understanding of UK regulatory and assurance environment.
