Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Technician to join their busy team
Duties include;
- Process and review employee data, attendance records, and high-volume payroll data.
- Calculate wages, overtime, deductions, and bonuses manually.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, working laws, and company policies are correct.
- Prepare and distribute payslips and payroll reports.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data in payroll systems.
- Respond to employee enquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and benefits.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure data accuracy.
- Assist with audits and generate reports as needed.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations.
- Assisting with complex payroll and pensions queries.
- Proven experience in payroll processing and have strong payroll legislation knowledge.
- Familiarity with payroll software and ability to gather data required for finance.
- Strong understanding of UK payroll regulations and tax laws.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- High attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel including vlookups and pivot tables.
- Knowledge of pension schemes and statutory payments (e.g., SSP, SMP).
- Able to complete manual calculations, including gross to net calculations.
- Experience with automated timekeeping systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
