Job Description
Senior NPD Technologist

You will be working for a high-quality food manufacturer at their BRC Grade A production facility, supplying products to their customer base all over the UK. The purpose of your role is to develop new products and technologies that support key customer requirements and drive targeted business growth.

Responsibilities
  • Develop new food products from concept through to launch.
  • Reformulate and improve existing products for quality, cost, allergens, or nutritional targets.
  • Run kitchen trials, pilot plant trials, and support full factory scale ups.
  • Understand ingredient functionality, processing effects, stability, shelf life, and product safety.
  • Attend customer visits, product reviews, and site meetings to represent the NPD function professionally.
  • Attend factory trials and first productions to ensure smooth product handover.
Qualifications
  • At least 5 years' experience in a factory process or development role in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of ingredient functionality and food processes, with experience in developing, testing, and evaluating new products.
  • Knowledgeable in food safety standards and HACCP procedures.
  • Happy in front of customers.
  • Comfortable explaining formulations, processes, and development decisions in a clear, engaging way.
Location & Working Hours
  • Site: Wigan, commutable from Manchester, Bolton, Warrington, Preston, Ormskirk, St Helens, Chorley, Bury, and other parts of Lancashire and Merseyside.
  • Working hours:
    • Monday to Thursday: 8.00 am - 4.30 pm
    • Friday: 7.30 am - 3.00 pm
Compensation

The Senior NPD Technologist job (ref:9040) pays £33,000 - £36,000 according to experience.
