Job Description

Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the US government, allies and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking an Senior Network Engineer to support a government contract based on the island of Diego Garcia.

PURPOSE / SCOPE

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for providing senior engineering for Cisco-based WAN/LAN; oversees technical team; implements best practices; maintaining network infrastructure and security while ensuring successful performance and compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS), Program, USG, and international requirements and guidelines. Ensures compliance with standard management practices including but not limited to monitoring, records keeping, report preparation, training, inspections, data reporting, etc. Will perform other duties as assigned.

The Senior Network Engineer will be available for on-call support as needed 24 hours/day, 7 days/week in this role.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-yearcollege or university with a major in computer science/engineering, electricalengineering, computer engineering, or equivalent combination of experience, education and training
  • Five years' experience with a large, mission critical Cisco-based wide area network/local area network (WAN/LAN)
  • Must meet requirements outlined in the DOD 8140.03 and Advanced Level Workforce Code 441
  • Knowledge in network capacity planning, network security principles and general network management best practices
  • Ability to oversee a technical team and implement best practice standards, lead projects and maintain network infrastructure and security
  • Three (3) years experience in a leadership role in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce
  • Must be familiar with current global, US, Program and PWS requirements
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US passport and driver's license throughout employment in this role
  • Ability to successfully pass PACOM medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance
WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Able to stand for long periods of time such as eight (8) to ten (10) hours, bend, kneel, and reach to store/retrieve supplies
  • Able to lift, carry, and push supplies and boxes up to 50 pounds
  • Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
  • May work in a typical office environment
