Senior .NET/C# Developer - Project: Oracle to PostgreSQL Migration • Day Rate: £500 - £530 Inside IR35 • Hybrid working: 1 day per week onsite • Nottingham
About the ProjectOur client are embarking on a strategic transformation of a legacy system built on PHP and Oracle, migrating to a modern architecture using PostgreSQL and .NET (C#). This is a complex re-engineering initiative involving the conversion of over 240 Oracle stored procedures-many of which are highly intricate-into performant, maintainable C# code. The new system will operate alongside the legacy platform during the transition, requiring robust integration and support for business-as-usual (BAU) operations.
They are also leveraging AI-assisted tools to accelerate and enhance the migration process, offering a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of legacy systems, modern development, and AI-driven engineering.
Key Responsibilities- Re-engineer Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures into C# services.
- Design and develop .NET-based components that integrate with legacy PHP systems and new PostgreSQL databases.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to ensure functional parity and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of a hybrid architecture supporting phased migration.
- Utilize AI-assisted tools to analyze, translate, and optimize legacy code.
- Support BAU operations during the migration to ensure system stability and continuity.
- Participate in code reviews, testing strategies, and technical documentation.
