This isn't one of those jobs where you're expected to stay in the same position for years waiting for someone above you to move on.
If you've found yourself mentoring colleagues, supporting students, taking the lead within your current team or simply thinking, "I'd love the chance to run a clinic one day", this could be exactly the opportunity you've been waiting for.
Our client isn't looking for someone who already has years of experience as a Clinic Principal. They're looking for an excellent Physiotherapist with strong clinical foundations, natural leadership qualities and the ambition to take that next step.
You'll continue treating patients while gradually developing into a genuine leadership role, supported every step of the way through structured mentoring, leadership coaching and an established network of experienced Clinic Principals. It's the perfect opportunity to build a long term career rather than simply finding your next job.
All About YouWe're looking for someone who is passionate about both delivering excellent patient care and helping others around them succeed.
What we are looking for:
- HCPC registration as a Physiotherapist
- CSP membership
- Around 4-6 years' post qualification MSK Physiotherapy experience (private practice experience welcomed but not essential)
- Strong manual therapy and clinical reasoning skills
- Confidence managing a varied private MSK caseload independently
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- A genuine interest in mentoring, leadership and developing other clinicians
- A proactive, solutions focused approach
- Ambition to progress into a Clinic Principal role
Previous mentoring, student supervision or leadership experience would be advantageous but certainly isn't essential. Personality, attitude and leadership potential are just as important.
What Will You Be Doing? You'll spend the majority of your time delivering high quality, patient centred Physiotherapy while gradually taking on additional leadership responsibilities as your confidence develops.
Your role will include:
- Assessing and treating a broad range of private MSK patients
- Managing complex musculoskeletal presentations and creating personalised treatment plans
- Working collaboratively with Osteopaths, Sports Therapists and other clinicians within the multidisciplinary team
- Utilising advanced rehabilitation techniques, shockwave therapy and other treatment technologies where appropriate
- Participating in regular clinical discussions and CPD sessions
- Supporting junior colleagues through mentoring and case discussions
- Gradually taking ownership of aspects of the clinic's day to day operations
- Helping to maintain exceptional patient experience and clinical standards
- Playing an active role in the future growth and success of the clinic
As your leadership journey develops, you'll receive structured support to build your confidence in areas such as team management, mentoring, operating leadership and business development.
Working Hours and EnvironmentThis is a full time permanent employed position based within a modern, well equipped private clinic in the centre of Taunton.
You'll work within a friendly multidisciplinary team that genuinely enjoys collaborating and learning from one another. The clinic provides a relaxed, supportive environment where clinicians are encouraged to develop specialist interests whilst delivering exceptional standards of patient care.
The role combines hands on clinical work with protected time to develop your leadership skills as you progress towards becoming a Clinic Principal.
Reaching Your PotentialOur client is passionate about investing in people, not simply filling vacancies.
From day one, you'll benefit from a structured onboarding programme designed to help you transition confidently into leadership. Rather than being expected to simply "figure it out", you'll receive ongoing mentoring, regular one to one support and access to an established network of experienced Clinic Principals who understand exactly what the journey looks like.
Alongside regular CPD, you'll have opportunities to broaden your clinical expertise through advanced technologies such as diagnostic ultrasound, focused shockwave therapy and exposure to injection therapy services delivered within the clinic.
You'll also gain access to a dedicated professional development academy covering everything from advanced clinical reasoning and communication skills through to leadership and business development, helping you become not only an exceptional clinician but an exceptional leader too.
For the right person, this is a genuine opportunity to build a long term career with a growing organisation where progression isn't just talked about - it's actively planned and supported.
