Senior Mental Health Nurse

Job Responsibilities

• Support the Deputy Lead for Mental Health and Learning Disabilities with the delivery of mental health education and support programmes for clinical staff within an acute setting.
• Provide visible clinical support for all areas, support clinical staff in managing mental health presentations, and offer specialist advice relating to mental health within departments.
• Work closely with Mental Health Liaison Teams across both UHNM sites to ensure timely discharge planning and actively engage in multi agency working.
• Support clinical colleagues with emergencies relating to mental health, rapid tranquilisation guidance, least restrictive practice, and provide support to staff following incidents relating to mental health and dementia.
• Assist the Deputy Lead in meeting statutory duties of the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act, and carry out audits for quality improvement.
