As we continue our mission to make people and nature happy through reinventing chocolate, we're looking for a Senior Machine Operative to join our Hygiene Team on a permanent basis.
Our Senior Machine Operatives are vital in ensuring all hygiene and cleaning activities are completed safely, professionally and in continuous compliance with current food safety, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Health & Safety and environmental standards.
You will support in leading an effective team, taking ownership for all hygiene related duties and that they are completed to the highest standards, maintaining full due diligence and product protection procedures whilst promoting a 'right first time' culture across all shift activities.

6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours)
Salary: £33,423.00 per annum
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday on a weekly rotating shift pattern of 6am - 2pm and 2pm - 10pm.

The onsite location for this role is at our Factory 'Hadley Park', in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, right in the heart of where our chocolates are made and where weekly, we can produce between 4 to 6 million of the chocolates we all know and love.
Hadley Park is just 5 minutes off the A141 and 1.3 miles from Huntingdon train station, with direct rail links to London King's Cross.
What you'll be doing- Support the Hygiene Team Managers and Hygiene Manager in delivering effective shift leadership and operational support when required.
- Assist in leading the hygiene team to ensure all cleaning tasks are completed professionally and efficiently.
- Carry out the disassembly and reassembly of equipment in a trained, methodical, and safe manner in accordance with CIC training procedures.
- Deliver right first time cleaning standards against defined procedures and trained parameters on every shift.
- Take ownership and accountability for maintaining food safe cleaning standards within designated work areas.
- Follow cleaning schedules and hygiene tasks as directed by the Hygiene Team Managers and Hygiene Manager.
- Maintain and continuously improve cleaning standards across all business areas on a shift by shift basis.
- Work collaboratively with other departments.
- Complete all due diligence documentation accurately and in line with legal, customer, and business requirements.
- Ensure all shift reports and performance metrics are completed and communicated in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct GMP compliance checks within assigned work areas.
- Ensure full compliance with all Health & Safety procedures and take responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others.
- Ensure food safety, hygiene standards, and PPE requirements are consistently followed.
- Food Safety Level 2 qualification or recognised equivalent.
- Level 2 HACCP certification.
- Strong verbal and written English to clearly discuss performance of your asset / process.
- Strong problem solving skills with the ability to apply root cause analysis techniques in a calm and controlled manner.
- Experience of leading or supervising a Hygiene Team within a confectionary or food manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of dry cleaning processes, chocolate manufacturing and water activity principles.
- Forklift truck licence.
