Senior Lecturer in Social Care, Applied Social Studies

Overview

Permanent full-time post: Senior Lecturer in Social Care in the School of Applied Social Studies at University College Cork (UCC). The post reports to the Head of School and involves leadership in research and research-led teaching within the Social Care Programme and the wider School.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in research and research-led teaching within the Social Care Programme and the School of Applied Social Studies.
• Engage in internationally impactful research by securing competitive research funding.
• Supervise doctoral and postdoctoral researchers, publish high-quality research, and contribute to wider dissemination activities.
• Play a key leadership role in building research capacity across the School, including participation in European funding initiatives.
• Deliver research-led teaching on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, supervise student research, and contribute to collegial and administrative work of the School.
• Make a strong research-led contribution to the development of the Social Care Programme and demonstrate leadership in teaching, research and engagement.

Requirements/Qualifications

• CORU registration as a Social Care Worker or eligibility to apply; secure CORU Social Care registration within 6 months of appointment.
• Garda vetting and/or an international police clearance check may form part of the selection process.

• Appointment may be made on the Senior Lecturer Salary Scale: €85,597 - €121,283 (Scale B) / €82,662 - €115,218 (Scale A). Salary placement will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
