We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Learning Disability Nurse to join our mental health team at HMP Doncaster, a category C & D Prison located in Doncaster. Capacity of 1400 men.
Central to Doncaster with good transport links, parking, on-site gym, PPG pathway for various career development opportunities.
Hours and Salary30 hours a week - preferably 3 x 10 hour days working 8:00-18:00, including 1 in 5 weekends. We would consider full-time hours (37.5 hours, 8:00-18:30, 1 in 5 weekends).
This position is part time; you'll receive an annual salary up to £47,466 per annum FTE depending on experience.

Main duties of the job- Respond as directed by the Mental Health Team Manager in the day-to-day operational functioning of the Mental Health team.
- Responsible for a caseload and delivering a nursing service for adults with learning disabilities/challenging behaviour within the criminal justice setting.
- Work with adults whose behaviours have resulted in their offending and contact with the criminal justice system.
- Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to undertake person-centred specialist behavioural assessments and planning, and co-ordination of positive non-aversive behavioural approaches.
- Deliver non-judgemental care, build therapeutic relationships and promote professional boundaries; participate in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care following policies with safeguarding.
- Registered Nurse Learning Disabilities (NMC)
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development
- Substantial experience with adults with learning disabilities and a range of clinical presentations
- Experience in learning disability health within community or inpatient settings; evidence of integrated multi-disciplinary working
- Evidence of use of a range of behavioural assessment tools
- Experience in hospital, community or prison environment
