Nancy Reuben Primary School is seeking to appoint an outstanding and enthusiastic Senior Kodesh Teacher to join our warm, ambitious and supportive school community.
This is an exciting opportunity for an excellent classroom practitioner who is passionate about high quality Kodesh education and ready to take a leading role in developing our Kodesh curriculum. The successful candidate will work closely with the Headteacher and teaching team to ensure that our curriculum is engaging, well sequenced and consistently delivered.
The role is principally a teaching and subject leadership position. It would suit an experienced Kodesh teacher who wishes to extend their influence beyond their own classroom while remaining closely involved in teaching and learning.
The successful candidate will:
- Be an excellent and inspiring Kodesh class teacher, with high expectations for every pupil
- Model consistently strong teaching practice and promote a culture of continual improvement
- Lead on the development, implementation and review of the Kodesh curriculum
- Ensure that curriculum content and skills are clearly sequenced and build progressively from EYFS to Year 6
- Support teachers with planning, teaching approaches, resources and subject knowledge
- Monitor the quality of teaching, learning and pupils' progress in Kodesh
- Help to ensure consistency in curriculum delivery and expectations across the school
- Contribute to the development of assessment in Kodesh
- Identify and share effective practice, including through coaching, team teaching and professional development
- Support the induction and development of new Kodesh staff
- Work collaboratively with the Head of Kodesh and wider school leadership team
- Promote pupils' enthusiasm for Jewish learning, tefillah, Hebrew and Jewish life
- Help to strengthen the connection between classroom learning, the school's Jewish ethos and pupils' lived experience
- Contribute positively to assemblies, celebrations, special events and the wider Jewish life of the school
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a strong track record as a highly effective Kodesh teacher
- Has secure knowledge of Kodesh teaching and curriculum development
- Understands how children learn and can adapt teaching to meet a range of needs
- Is committed to excellent provision for all pupils, including those with SEND
- Can motivate, support and positively influence colleagues
- Is organised, reflective and able to lead agreed areas of development
- Works well as part of a collaborative team
- Communicates effectively with pupils, staff and parents
- Is committed to the Orthodox Jewish ethos and values of Nancy Reuben Primary School
- Places pupils' wellbeing, safety and personal development at the heart of their practice
Previous subject leadership experience would be an advantage, although we would also welcome applications from experienced teachers who are ready to take the next step in their professional development.
