Senior Java Software Engineer

We are Dutch recruitment agency based in Hilversum and we are preferred suppliers to big Banking organisations here in the Netherlands.

For one of our top Banking client based in Amsterdam we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with experience in Banking sector.

36- 40 hours

2 - 3 year project

Hybrid (1 day per week onsite)

The project:

The Spring-boot applications offer functionalities to intermediaries to interact in a digital way to create the best fitting Mortgage for the customer. Your role as a Software Engineer is to realise solutions together with product management and developers, interact with other teams and departments and raise the improvements needed to keep the applications on a high quality level.

A insight in architecture is needed to make sure that any choices you and the team make on the software architecture will maintain quality levels and keep the high pace of delivery for the entire cluster of teams.

Responsibilities:

Our back-end APIs are created with an internal Spring-Boot based framework and run on container infrastructure. To comply with our regulators demands, our releases processes can feel bureaucratic from time to time. This means that you need to be a quick learner to understand them, and you need to have the ambition to improve and automate as much as possible.

Skills needed:

• Experience with Java, Maven and Spring-boot

• Experience with Relational Databases (Oracle)

• Experience with Event Streaming (Kafka)

• Experience with different architecture styles (Micro Services, Event Architecture, ports and adapters)

• Experience with CI/CD tooling (at least Git and Azure DevOps)

• Experience with the Agile/Scrum/Kanban way of working

Nice to have:

• Basic (Linux) operations and automation skills

• Experience with Front end development

• Advanced skills that help us improve our CI/CD pipeline (e.g. using Docker)

• Experience with DevOps (monitoring production, Grafana, Kibana)

Interview process:

• One technical interview (60 min Teams chat) and one softs skills (20 mins)
