Hiring: Senior IT Support Engineer
I'm working with a large, well-established independent boarding school that's looking for a Senior IT Support Engineer to join their dynamic in-house tech team.
Location: Surrey
Salary: £34,000 - £38,000
Hours: Full-time, 40 hrs/week, all year round
Start: ASAP
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, ownership, and working across a large site with a complex IT landscape. You'll be hands-on with a broad mix of technologies - from Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace to networking, virtualization, security, and device management - while playing a key role in delivering IT strategy and user experience improvements.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing 2nd/3rd line support across cloud, infrastructure, and networking
Managing and maintaining IT systems (Servers, storage, backups, network services)
Supporting users (staff & students), resolving escalated issues and managing helpdesk operations
Implementing and maintaining IT security best practices
Contributing to IT projects and life cycle planning alongside the IT Operations Manager
Were looking for someone with:
Solid technical experience across Windows Server, M365, AD/Group Policy, networking (VLANs, DHCP/DNS), and virtual environments
A proactive approach to problem-solving and excellent communication skills
Ideally, some exposure to education or boarding environments (not essential)
