Location: London (3 days p/w in the office)
Ready to step up, lead a team and accelerate your Procurement career?
You've built strong foundations in IT Procurement. You know how to run complex sourcing projects, negotiate major technology contracts and influence senior stakeholders.
Now you're looking for more.
More ownership. More visibility. More influence. And, importantly, your first real opportunity to lead and develop a team.
This is a career-defining opportunity to join a growing Procurement function within a major global organisation and take responsibility for a team of three Procurement professionals.
You'll operate at the heart of a business that is investing in technology, AI and Procurement capability. You'll have direct exposure to senior leadership, influence strategic technology investments and help shape how Procurement operates as the function continues to evolve.
This isn't a role where you simply inherit a mature category strategy and keep things ticking over.
You'll be expected to build, improve, challenge and lead.
What you'll be doingYou'll lead, coach and develop a talented team while taking ownership of strategic sourcing activity across a broad and varied portfolio.
Your core focus will include IT, SaaS, software, AI and Professional Services, alongside exposure to wider indirect categories.
You'll work closely with senior stakeholders to understand business priorities, identify commercial opportunities and deliver sourcing strategies that create measurable value.
That means:
- Leading and developing a team of three Procurement professionals, creating a high-performance environment and helping them progress their careers.
- Owning complex and high-value IT, SaaS, software, AI and Professional Services sourcing projects.
- Developing category and sourcing strategies that deliver commercial value, reduce risk and improve business outcomes.
- Negotiating complex technology and services contracts and challenging incumbent suppliers to deliver better outcomes.
- Building strategic relationships with key suppliers and embedding stronger supplier governance and performance management.
- Influencing senior stakeholders and becoming a trusted commercial partner to the business.
- Helping shape Procurement processes, tools and ways of working as the function continues to grow.
- Exploring how emerging technologies, including AI and consumption-based technology services, should be sourced and commercially managed.
If you're ambitious about where your Procurement career is heading, this opportunity gives you something that can be difficult to find:
The chance to move into leadership without moving away from the commercial work you enjoy.
You'll still be close to major negotiations, strategic sourcing projects and technology investments, but you'll also start building the leadership experience that can position you for future Head of Procurement, Head of Category or Procurement Director opportunities.
You'll gain exposure to senior executives, help shape a growing Procurement function and have genuine influence over how the organisation approaches strategic sourcing.
Who are we looking for? You're likely to be an ambitious IT Procurement professional who has progressed quickly through your career and is now ready for greater responsibility.
You may already be informally coaching or mentoring colleagues, leading project teams or acting as the go-to person within your category - but you haven't yet been given the opportunity to formally lead a team.
You'll bring strong experience across IT Procurement, particularly software, SaaS, technology services and/or Professional Services, alongside a track record of delivering complex sourcing projects and commercial outcomes.
You'll be commercially sharp, confident negotiating complex contracts and comfortable influencing senior stakeholders.
Most importantly, you'll have the energy, curiosity and ambition to help build something - rather than simply maintain what already exists.
Experience within Financial Services or another regulated environment would be advantageous, as would knowledge of areas such as Operational Resilience and DORA, but neither should prevent a strong IT Procurement professional from applying.
What's on offer?A high-profile role within a growing Procurement function.
Your first genuine opportunity to lead and develop a team.
Exposure to major technology investments, SaaS, AI and emerging technologies.
Direct interaction with senior leadership and the opportunity to influence Procurement strategy.
The freedom to improve processes, challenge existing ways of working and help shape the future Procurement operating model.
Investment in your development as both a Procurement professional and a future Procurement leader.
If you've been waiting for the opportunity to prove you can lead a team, influence at a senior level and take the next big step in your Procurement career - this could be it.
