We're looking for a Senior IT Engineer.
This role offers a rare opportunity to focus on proactive strategy, not reactive support. You will focus on high-impact project work that addresses the strategic challenges of a fast-growing business. You will enhance our infrastructure, security, and automation, designing and building reliable systems that scale with us.
The companyImagine a world where every small business has the power to thrive. That's the world we're building at iwoca. Small businesses aren't just statistics - they're the heartbeat of our communities, the character of our high streets, and the engine of our economy. Since 2012, we've revolutionised how these businesses access finance, turning what was once a lengthy, frustrating process into something remarkable: funding that's fast, flexible, and actually works for modern businesses.
Our impact speaks for itself: we've provided billions in funding to more than 150,000 businesses across Europe, making us one of the continent's leading fintech innovators. But we're just getting started. Our mission? To empower one million businesses with the financial tools they deserve.
We combine cutting-edge technology and data science with genuine human understanding to make finance feel less like a barrier and more like a superpower. Whether a business is managing cash flow or seizing unexpected opportunities, we ensure they get the funds they need - often within minutes.
The teamThe IT team supports more than 650 staff members between four offices in the UK and Germany. We partner with the wider business to provide technical solutions that help iwoca achieve its goals. To support this, team members continually develop expertise in key areas, including networking, security, and cloud-based solutions.
Team members work from the London office 2-3 times a week to provide continuous in-person support, and we meet regularly to catch up on work and organise priorities. Every quarter, the team socially catch up with a social/fun event.
The roleThis is a senior and technical role that's all about proactive improvement, not reactive ticket-solving. It's an opportunity for an experienced IT Engineer to step away from the day-to-day support queue and focus on higher impact projects to enable company growth.

You will tackle complex technical challenges, evaluate feature requests from across the company, and enjoy the freedom to design and deploy reliable, scalable IT systems.
