Job Description

A trusted global provider of legal and business solutions is looking for a highly capable Information Officer/Senior Information Officer to manage and support the procurement, research, and training related to information resources within their organisation. This is a critical role that involves liaising with vendors, managing budgets, supporting research requests, and ensuring the seamless delivery of information services to internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the acquisition, delivery, renewal, and promotion of information resources. Liaise with vendors and manage the annual information budget.
  • Respond to a wide range of legal and business information requests, from quick reference queries to in-depth legal research.
  • Deliver training and inductions to lawyers, trainees, and new joiners on the use of information resources and tools.
  • Support the end-to-end management of current awareness, including the facilitation and effective usage of content aggregators.
  • Maintain and update information on client information systems.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to the Information Officer, managing daily resource management activities.
To be considered for this role you need the following skills and experience
  • Minimum of four years in Information Services, ideally in a legal or business commercial environment.
  • Proven experience in undertaking research and answering inquiries across a range of topics.
  • Strong knowledge of key research and legal databases.
  • Experience in supporting procurement and renewal activities for information and database subscriptions.
  • Competence in using Microsoft products and other relevant software tools.
  • Confidence in managing budgets and liaising with vendors.
  • A degree or postgraduate qualification in an information-related field, or equivalent qualification (e.g., CILIP chartership) is highly desirable.
