Job Details

Permanent £45,000 - 55,000 per annum North West

Responsibilities

• Manage and enhance High Performance Computing (HPC) systems and Scientific Computing services.
• Work with an impressive infrastructure, including a 1,200 core HPC cluster and a Research Data Storage Service that scales into the petabytes.
• Design, integrate, and implement systems, incorporating GPFS into storage solutions within an HPC environment.
• Provide infrastructure support, ensuring scientists have the tools they need for research.
• Patching bugs, building servers, and supporting research operations.
• Collaborate with technical and non technical teams, communicating effectively.
• Work onsite, as systems and scientists require on site presence to troubleshoot and support essential research.

Qualifications

• Experience at PB scale storage or equivalent.
• Proficiency with GPFS in an HPC environment.
• Comfortable with Linux and adept at scripting.
