We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Strategic Finance Business Partner to take a leading role in delivering financial leadership and insight across a large and complex organisation, with responsibility for a portfolio worth just under £300m in annual income. This post offers the opportunity to influence decision-making at the highest level while managing a talented team of Finance Business Partners and junior Finance Business Partners.
As Senior Finance Business Partner, you will:
- Lead and manage a team of Finance Business Partners, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality business partnering service across academic faculties.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders acting as a trusted partner and critical friend.
- Drive the preparation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and five-year financial plans, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Provide insightful financial analysis and narrative to accompany management reports for executive-level decision-making.
- Oversee the development of financial reporting tools and ensure effective use of data to improve reporting and decision support.
- Support the delivery of strategic initiatives, including investment appraisals, income generation projects, and international collaborations.
- Actively contribute to the Finance Division's leadership team, embedding values of collaboration, courage, and continuous improvement.
Based in Brighton, this is a central role within a complex organisation with a turnover of over £300m. You will spend at least three days a week in the office, building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and your team. The successful candidate will:
- Be a fully qualified Accountant.
- Have significant experience of business partnering in a large, complex organisation.
- Demonstrate the ability to lead and motivate a team of qualified finance professionals.
- Possess excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial information for non-financial audiences.
- Be resilient and confident in constructively challenging senior stakeholders to achieve robust financial outcomes.
- Have strong technical and analytical skills, with experience in financial modelling and developing reporting tools.
