The Business Banking Finance Business Partnering team is key to supporting this ambition by delivering financial management services to senior stakeholders within the organisation, influencing performance and outcomes to drive the right commercial decisions.
The role will involve regular engagement across our business and with senior stakeholders to provide expert knowledge and support, understanding in depth the portfolio, products, and processes, and applying this across a variety of initiatives and requests. Our team are responsible for supporting the Business Bank Commercial teams in analysing and navigating financial performance. We help drive value creation by providing insight and influence on priority business issues.
In this role, there are opportunities to work closely with the Strategy team in evaluating and presenting alternative proposals to support our growth ambitions to senior stakeholders. Making a tangible impact on divisional financial strategy will be medium to longer term focus.
What you'll be doing- Communicating financial results to senior business customers, adding insight through identification and communication of key issues in business performance, drawing on standard and ad hoc analysis.
- Proactively partnering the business to identify alternative actions to address business under-performance/ stretch performance, providing recommendations based upon financial and commercial insight.
- Proactively partnering the business to identify and evaluate long term strategic options to improve performance, providing an external competitor and industry trends perspective on key decisions.
- Influencing business decision making as a senior member of the management team. Providing were relevant a view outside of your finance specialism.
- Be part of cross functional teams recommending and implementing strategic initiatives and driving change. Recommendations may include changes to systems, process, and structures based on the analytical findings presented to business.
- Taking the lead on supporting regulatory activities such as stress testing and recovery planning, as well as other ad hoc queries. This will include agreement on high level financial forecast assumption, business trends and value drivers with the Business area.
- Role will always be required to provide ongoing support within a changing financial environment.
- Establishing, maintaining, and developing a network of internal stakeholders across the Business Banking team providing healthy challenge and collaboration.
- Mentoring and developing Finance Business Partnering team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Proven experience in building strong working relationships with a wide-ranging level of stakeholders, across a number of disciplines.
- Track record of influencing at various levels, including senior stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and presentational skills to senior stakeholders with key analysis and supporting narrative to inform and influence is essential.
- Strong financial modelling skills (excel based) and ability to critically appraise outputs.
- Knowledgeable in financial factors and external market trends that may impact Business Bank performance (both risks and opportunities).
- A natural curiosity and drive to know more. Also be hardworking, with a real eye for detail.
