Senior Executive Engineer (Sligo Regional Design Office)

Key services areas include Planning, Local Enterprise Office, Community and Economic Development, Transportation, Motor Taxation, Environment, Water, Emergency Services along with Housing, Libraries and the Arts. These operations are supported by internal services which include ICT, Corporate, Finance and Human Resource functions.

County Sligo, located in the province of Connacht in the Northwest of Ireland, is the largest centre of population in the North-West, exerting its influence on a hinterland that extends far beyond the County boundaries. Sligo serves as an administrative, employment, commercial, health and education centre for a large hinterland. Sligo is served by road and rail-based public transport. There is also a port facility in the city, allowing for the import and export of goods.

An opportunity now exists in Sligo County Council for the position of Senior Executive Engineer (Sligo Regional Design Office).

Job Summary/Description:

The Senior Executive Engineer (SEE) in the Regional Design Office (RDO) is a senior management role with specialist responsibilities. The SEE will lead and manage design team(s), oversee resource allocation and identify training and development needs to ensure optimal team performance. A key responsibility is to ensure that teams operate efficiently and effectively in delivering high-quality outputs.

The SEE will be accountable for the delivery of an annual programme of works, as determined by the Management Advisory Committee and delegated by the RDO Senior Engineer. They will report to and operate under the direction of the RDO Senior Engineer, with responsibility for the day-to-day administration and budget management of assigned projects.
