Senior Engineering ManagerAs a Senior Engineering Manager, you'll be embedded across two Squads, guiding, mentoring, and empowering engineers to achieve their fullest potential. This role is pivotal in shaping team growth, driving technical excellence, refining engineering processes, and delivering impactful outcomes aligned with our Engineering Strategy.
Your ability to clearly articulate and align your Squads with the broader Engineering and company vision will directly influence the success of our engineering efforts and overall organisational performance.
What You Will Do- Lead and inspire two Squads, ensuring clarity of purpose, consistency of delivery, and cultural cohesion across the board.
- Be accountable for the technical delivery of your Squads without being hands-on by empowering and leveraging senior engineers and architects, andcollaborating closely with product managers and stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Drive engineering excellence within your Squads using our engineering scorecard, focusing on key metrics (DORA, MTTD, FinOps) to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
- Oversee team capacity planning, ensuring sustainable growth aligned with business objectives.
- Continuously refine and improve engineering processes, promoting efficiency and high-quality outcomes.
- Collaborate effectively with peers and stakeholders across the engineering organisation to ensure alignment and execution of strategic goals.
- Stay current with industry trends and proactively incorporate best practices into team workflows and engineering processes.
- Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or similar role, ideally with a technical background.
- Demonstrated success managing people, fostering career growth, and building high-performing engineering teams.
- Experience leveraging engineering metrics (such as DORA, MTTD, FinOps) to drive improvements and engineering excellence.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Problem-solving aptitude, paired with a passion for technology and continuous improvement.
- Inspirational leadership style, motivating teams to achieve ambitious goals within a positive and collaborative environment.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to effectively prioritise and balance multiple responsibilities.
