Job Title: Senior Engineering Manager - Functional Safety & Cyber Security
Location: Ballymena
What You'll DoAs Senior Engineering Manager - Functional Safety & Cyber Security, you'll be the principal authority for safety and security across our electrical and electronic systems. You'll lead a team of engineers (plus outsourced partners), define and embed standards, and oversee the full functional safety and cyber security lifecycle. From hazard and threat analysis to system-level verification, you'll guide critical projects that keep our products safe, compliant, and future-ready.
What We're Looking ForWe're looking for someone with proven experience in safety and/or cyber security engineering (e.g. IEC 61508, ISO 26262, ISO 21448, ISO/SAE 21434) and familiarity with homologation standards such as UN ECE R155 and R156. You'll bring a background in electrical/electronic system design, integration, and testing-ideally from automotive, bus, coach, HGV, or another complex safety-critical environment. Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and excellent communication skills are essential, along with the ability to inspire and guide multidisciplinary teams.
Bonus if you have: Formal certification as a Functional Safety or Cyber Security professional (e.g. TÜV Rheinland), experience with Siemens Polarion, and a track record of representing your organisation on cross-company or industry-wide initiatives.
