Job Title:Senior Engineer - Software - SMCS

Salary:Circa £55,000 (dependent on skills and experience)
What you'll be doing:- Leading the design, implementation, and testing of SMCS system solutions based on your experience.
- Guiding and mentoring other Software Engineers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Supporting management with reporting, planning, and estimation activities.
- Interacting with SMCS customers and end users to facilitate development and evolution of the SMCS program and product.
- Ensuring proper documentation and configuration management of all work products.
- Enhancing software performance through measurement and analysis.
- Experience making leadership decisions in software development roles.
- Strong understanding of software lifecycle models (e.g., waterfall, Agile, Spiral).
- Experience with high-level design methodologies such as UML.
- Support of multiple complex programs.
- Experience in estimating project bids.
- Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language (e.g., ADA, C++, C#).
Engineers should possess an academic qualification in Engineering or related STEM subjects, along with professional recognition such as Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status. Support for achieving relevant accreditation is provided. Preference is given to candidates who are already registered professionals.
