We are seeking a Senior Engineer - Optical Quality (OQ). This Senior Engineer - Optical Quality position offers the chance to work at the forefront of automotive innovation, contributing to cutting-edge projects in a dynamic and collaborative environment. This contract role supports the development of both Exterior and Interior Trim during the design stages of vehicle programs. You will play a key role in coordinating Optical Quality reviews, supporting benchmarking activities, and managing issue resolution processes across cross-functional teams. This is a hands-on role requiring strong collaboration, analytical thinking, and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities
  • Schedule and coordinate cross-functional OQ Reviews, including facilities, agendas, and presentation materials.
  • Assist in OQ Loop Reviews, generating presentation materials and tracking issues from CAS/CAD models.
  • Manage PQ Attributes and related OQ/PQ issues in the Program Global Issues Register.
  • Liaise with Designers, CAS Modellers, Studio Feasibility, and PQ Engineers to develop solutions for OQ/PQ issues.
  • Conduct Benchmarking studies of competitor vehicles and report findings to cross-functional teams.
  • Support the development and maintenance of a PQ Benchmarking database.
  • Provide weekly updates on OQ issue status and maintain structured agendas for future reviews.
  • Interpret CAD drawings and sectional data (CAD operation skills not essential).
  • Support digital reviews and sign-off events for OQ/PQ activities.
Requirements
  • Experience in automotive engineering & a solid understanding of Optical Quality and Perceived Quality principles, with the ability to apply them effectively.
  • Ability to interpret CAD data; familiarity with TCUA (Team Centre) PLM is desirable.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to coordinate complex reviews and benchmarking activities.
  • Experience in benchmarking and issue tracking tools.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to support teams in achieving quality targets.
