Embedded Systems RISC-V Grid Control & Smart Energy Devices

We're looking for a Systems Engineer to join our hybrid team in Eindhoven, focused on developing and integrating RISC-V-based embedded systems for next-generation smart grid and energy monitoring platforms. You'll work across architecture, firmware integration, and system validation to support decentralized, low-latency energy control systems.

What You'll Do

• Define and implement embedded system architectures using RISC-V microcontrollers and SoCs for energy platforms.
• Lead the integration of real-time control, measurement, and communication modules in grid-connected devices.
• Collaborate with hardware and firmware teams to ensure system-wide performance and power efficiency.
• Validate communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, MQTT, CAN) across distributed components.
• Assist in compliance testing for energy standards (IEC 61850, ISO 15118).

You Bring

• 3+ years of experience in embedded systems or energy control platforms.
• Deep familiarity with RISC-V architecture and real-time system integration.
• Experience with energy metering, smart sensors, or similar industrial embedded products.
• Strong background in C/C++, system modeling, and protocol implementation.
• Knowledge of low-level debugging and performance profiling on custom hardware.

Nice to have:

• Experience with distributed energy systems, microgrids, or EV infrastructure.
• Familiarity with Linux-based platforms or embedded RTOS (Zephyr, FreeRTOS).
• Exposure to simulation tools (MATLAB/Simulink) or HIL setups.
• Dutch language skills (optional, English is the main working language).
