Senior Embedded Software Engineer - Storage / Linux Kernel / Device Drivers

We are partnered with a global leader in semiconductor and wireless technology innovation. The team is looking to hire a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to develop storage drivers, filesystems, and tools across a broad SoC storage stack supporting advanced flash technologies.

This is a permanent, fully onsite opportunity based in Cork, Ireland.

Key responsibilities for this Senior Embedded Software Engineer position:

• Develop and maintain storage drivers and proprietary filesystem modules for modem processors and Linux-based SoCs.
• Work on Linux kernel components including storage drivers, filesystem modules, block drivers, and memory subsystems.
• Optimise storage and memory performance for runtime efficiency and power consumption.
• Debug and resolve kernel-level issues reported by customers and flash vendor partners.
• Contribute to upstream Linux kernel community on new storage and memory features.
• Support expansion into automotive, home entertainment, and embedded computing markets.

Key requirements:

• 4+ years of embedded software experience.
• Deep expertise in Linux kernel programming, device driver development, and kernel internals.
• Experience with Linux filesystem modules (F2FS, EXT4, EROFS) advantageous.
• Strong kernel and user-space debugging skills including JTAG/ICE debuggers.
• Familiarity with ARM architecture and real-time/embedded programming concepts.
