This role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer with Water/Wastewater experience. Produce detailed Electrical and Instrumentation designs for Water & Wastewater Treatment Plants. The role will have responsibility for ensuring that all work is efficiently and effectively managed and executed within defined constraints, such as time and budget, and with due diligence. The role will require strong technical skills and communication and interaction with managers, engineers, internal and external team members, suppliers and clients.
Responsibilities- Experience liaising with Electrical Supply Board (ESB) Design and selection of Instrumentation for Water and WasteWater process.
- Evaluation of the client specifications from Industrial Clients and Municipal Clients.
- Liaise with clients in relation to electrical design queries, submission approvals and specification compliance.
- Preparation of Electrical Technical Designs & Submissions.
- Design of electrical distribution and general services (lighting, fire and intruder alarms and containment systems).
- Design and development of Electrical Panels including schematic review (MCC, LCP, MDB etc).
- Development of automation hardware and system network architecture.
- Prepare Cable, IO & Power schedules.
- Evaluation and selection of sub-contractors and suppliers.
- Preparation of procurement specifications and quotation evaluations.
- Liaise with other departments (design, contracts, control & automation etc.) and with equipment suppliers.
- Provide advice to mechanical designers on electrical requirements at the design stage.
- Understanding and ability to update single line diagrams, panel schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Preparation of Panel FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) documentation, FAT attendance and sign off.
- Preparation of Control Philosophies.
- Work to Irish Standards, European Norm, Water Industry Standards (WIMES) & IEC standards.
- Travel to site occasionally to support design activities, review construction progress or troubleshooting as necessary.
- Provide Electrical Design expertise to the business.
- Act as a mentor for more junior members of the team.
- Level 7 or higher in Electrical Engineering.
- 10+ Years experience in an Electrical Design role.
- Knowledge of Water and Wastewater treatment industry.
- Highly organised and efficient.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Excellent IT skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong technical knowledge.
- Team player and ability to work on own initiative.
- Ability to lead and manage others.
- Customer focused.
- Self motivated.
