Pay Rate: £25.27 per hour (Inside IR35)
Role SummaryWe are seeking an execution-focused Senior Hardware/Device Test Engineer to take ownership of hands-on testing for advanced automotive infotainment systems. This role is a critical maternity cover position focusing on active NVH technologies at both system and subsystem levels. The successful candidate will drive test delivery through rigorous validation, debugging, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver comprehensive test programmes for infotainment systems, specifically targeting active NVH technologies.
- Ensure all validation activities align with rigorous automotive quality standards and technical specifications.
- Identify system bottlenecks or defects; drive performance enhancements in system/subsystem interactions.
- Define and apply detailed testing specifications for both legacy and next-generation infotainment components.
- Maintain precise documentation of test procedures, rig configurations, and validation results.
- Continuously improve and automate test methodologies to increase efficiency and data repeatability.
- Set up and maintain complex test rigs and environments for infotainment and audio system validation.
- Work alongside hardware, software, and NVH specialists to ensure a fully integrated system validation process.
- Domain Expertise: Proven background in automotive infotainment testing with specific exposure to Active NVH.
- Technical Toolset: Proficient in debugging and analysis using:
- Vector Tools: CANoe, CANalyzer
- Network Analysis: Wireshark, Putty
- Hardware: Media converters, JTAG flashing
- Protocols: Deep understanding of automotive protocols including CAN, Automotive Ethernet (Some IP), and A2B (Automotive Audio Bus).
- Audio Systems: Direct experience with audio validation and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) rig setups.
- Soft Skills: Excellent technical documentation skills and the ability to manage test programmes independently.
- Licensing: Must hold a full UK Driving Licence.
- Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Preferred: Master's degree in a technical discipline.
- Certifications: Additional certifications in embedded systems, automotive protocols, or audio engineering are highly advantageous.
