Senior Designer - Airplane Doors (d/f/m)
In this position, you will have the rare opportunity to work on airplane doors of the Airbus Commercial fleet.
This role is also available with reduced weekly hours, but a minimum of 30 hours/week and an adapted scope of tasks.
Your location
At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.

Your tasks and responsibilities
- Technical responsibility for the development of an airplane door system
- Design & configuration of metallic components for passenger and cargo doors
- Integration of kinematic components, linings and isolation
- Conception and analysis of Design principles considering production and cost aspects within the given frame of customer specifications and certification regulations
- Creation of failure mode and reliability analysis (DFMEA / FMECA)
- Detail design including drawing set creation (models, drawings, BOM) according to customer regulations
- Check and approval of drawings and documents
- Preparation and treatment of change requests (Change Notes / Change Requests)
- Support to type certification and authoring / approving of certification documents
- Support to serialization and support to production incl. treatment of quality notes
- Specification of equipments and systems for airplane doors under consideration of the technical design directives
- Alignment of specification requirements with suppliers and customers
- Coordination of work packages with external engineering subcontractors
Desired skills and qualifications
- Master's Degree in the field of engineering: aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering or similar with experience and further education
- Several years of experience in aerospace engineering
- Experience in the development of aerospace structures or system integration
- Very good knowledge of metallic lightweight materials
- Experience in creation of DFMEA & FMECA
- Very good analytic and conceptional abilities
- Solution-oriented way of working
- Communication strength and team spirit
- High personal commitment and engagement
- Strive for continuous improvement
- Very good knowledge of CATIA V5/V6
- Knowledge in 3DExperience appreciated
- Confident handling of Google Suite
- Language Skills: English - negotaition level, German - intermediate
