We are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions across the water sector. You will work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams, supporting the design, development, and delivery of electrical and instrumentation systems for major projects across Ireland.

The Role

As Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing detailed electrical and instrumentation designs while ensuring projects are delivered to the highest technical and quality standards.

You will work closely with clients, suppliers, project teams, and subcontractors, providing technical expertise throughout the full project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce Electrical and Instrumentation designs for Water & Wastewater Treatment Plants
• Liaise with ESB and other external stakeholders regarding project requirements
• Design electrical distribution systems, control panels, instrumentation, and general services
• Prepare technical designs, procurement specifications, and engineering documentation
• Develop automation hardware and network architecture solutions
• Prepare cable, IO, and power schedules
• Review and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and single line diagrams
• Support FAT testing and commissioning activities
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Mechanical, Process, Automation, and Civil departments
• Ensure compliance with Irish Standards, IEC standards, and Water Industry specifications
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers

What We're Looking For

• Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering (Level 7 or higher)
• 10+ years' experience in Electrical Design Engineering
• Previous Water/Wastewater industry experience highly desirable
• Strong technical understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage workload independently and work effectively within a team
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to project delivery
