Kendal, Cumbria; site based with flexible working options

What will you be doing?
  • Lead and support Design Engineers within the team
  • Prioritise workload and manage project schedules to meet business targets
  • Act as key technical interface with customers; manage requirements and updates
  • Oversee design validation to ensure performance and reliability
  • Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and reports
  • Drive new product development and continuous improvement
  • Support prototype builds and testing activities
  • Present design solutions and progress to internal stakeholders
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers
Where will you be doing it?
  • You'll be based at an established engineering and manufacturing site in Kendal, working within a detailed design team focused on pump products. The role supports global OEM customers across power generation and industrial markets, with close collaboration across cross functional engineering teams in a hands on, technically driven environment.
What will you need?
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar; or equivalent experience
  • Strong post qualification experience in design engineering
  • Experience with rotating equipment; pumps or turbomachinery preferred
  • Understanding of engineering design processes and product lifecycle
  • Strong 3D CAD capability; SolidWorks preferred
  • Experience producing and reviewing technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong knowledge of tolerancing and GD&T
  • Experience leading or mentoring engineers
  • Good stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Organised approach with ability to manage deadlines
