Senior Design Engineer - Telecoms

We're seeking a Senior Design Engineer to take ownership of end-to-end network solution design. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading from a technical perspective, influencing stakeholders, and delivering scalable, secure designs that follow best-practice standards. If you're driven, solutions-focused, and confident acting as the technical authority, this role gives you the autonomy to make a real impact, while working remotely.

What you'll be doing

Capture and analyse customer requirements to design tailored network solutions using standardised services where possible
Provide full technical sign-off across designs, test approaches, documentation, and operational handovers
Partner with customers and internal teams to influence technical decisions and ensure alignment to design principles
Act as the IP technical authority across project lifecycles, building strong stakeholder relationships
Produce templated, modular, and industrialised configurations to support scalable deployments
Ensure quality assurance throughout design and implementation

What you'll bring

Strong presentation, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
A proactive, self-starter mindset with the ability to deliver innovative solutions under pressure
Experience producing detailed High-Level and Low-Level designs
Strong knowledge across Layer 2/3, IP Networking, load balancing, MPLS, Radio, and routing protocols
Understanding of legacy technologies such as SDH, PDH, and ISDN
Awareness of firewall and security technologies
Proven IP and Data Centre expertise (essential)
Ability to mentor others and share knowledge effectively

Pay: £50,000.00-£85,000.00 per year
