Our client is looking for a candidate with a strong background in managing a Homeware or a DIY store to fill in Senior Department Manager role. The store is located on a 20 minutes' drive from Enfield and a 30 minutes' drive from Dublin city. An ideal candidate will thrive in a busy big box setting, keep track of the inventory and reduce wastage and deal with staff and customer queries. This job also requires a keen eye for detail, knowledge of KPI's and Sales and applying different strategies to merchandise the store better to generate bigger revenue. - Support senior management to drive department sales, store standards, and team performance.
- Ensure full compliance with company policies and procedures across your team.
- Manage department stock and inventory, proactively investigating discrepancies and coaching staff on best practices.
- Drive customer engagement and sales through creative merchandising, promotions, and displays.
- Take full ownership of your departments, leading, motivating, and developing your team while managing schedules, stock, and customer feedback.
- Handle customer queries and complaints in line with company policies.
- Lead store operations during shifts, including opening/closing and ensuring smooth day to day running of the store.
- Act as a point of contact for staff queries, grievances, and performance management.
- Minimum of 3 years' retail management experience, ideally within a fast paced, customer focused environment.
- A confident and inspiring people leader with the ability to motivate teams, manage performance, coach employees, and professionally resolve customer and colleague issues.
- Strong knowledge of retail operations, including sales analysis, stock control, inventory management, merchandising, and ordering large or bulky products.
- Proven ability to thrive in a high volume, fast paced retail environment, effectively managing changing priorities while maintaining excellent customer service and operational standards.
- Excellent organisational, planning, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet business objectives.
- Commercially aware, with the ability to interpret sales data, identify opportunities for growth, and drive department performance.
- A proactive, hands on approach with a commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety, compliance, and store presentation.
- Flexible to work a variety of management shifts, including opening, closing, weekends, and peak trading periods as required.
