SimoTech is seeking a Senior DeltaVAutomation Engineer to join our team at our headquarters in Cork. In this role,you will play a key part in supporting a major pharmaceutical client,contributing to a high-impact, long-term automation programme.

The ideal candidate will bring 8+years of experience delivering critical automation solutions, with a strongfocus on DeltaV systems, particularly migration projects from DeltaV Operate toDeltaV Live. This position requires deep technical expertise in Emerson DeltaV,along with proven experience operating within complex, highly regulated (GxP)environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadershipfor the migration from DeltaV Operate to DeltaV Live across a large, complexmanufacturing environment
  • Support the development of the migration strategy, primarily from a technical perspective, but alsocontributing to validation strategy, downtime assessment, resource planning,training and communication, risk mitigation and cost estimation
  • Assess existing site systemsand global library content, perform gap analysis, accurately define complexityand scale, and map out an upgrade plan.
  • Design intuitive, standardisedgraphics aligned to ISA-101 and best practice principles.
  • Lead the configuration ofDeltaV Live animated elements, faceplates and graphics
  • Plan and execute phasedmigration activities, ensuring minimal operational disruption.
  • Support testing (FAT/SAT),troubleshooting, and system validation throughout the migration lifecycle.
  • Devise and implement migrationplan in consultation with end users to ensure minimal disruption to operations,considering impact of change to usability of the DeltaV environment.
  • Set up DeltaV environment toutilise both DeltaV Operate and DeltaV Live in parallel for duration of migrationperiod, leading to eventual decommissioning of DeltaV Operate.
  • Manage change under theQuality system, ensuring that site process is followed and interaction with allrelevant site functions is planned and controlled
  • Collaborate with stakeholders,provide user training, and drive continuous improvement of HMI usability andstandards.
Requirements Qualifications &Experience
  • Bachelor'sdegree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or the LifeSciences.
  • 8+ year DeltaV automationengineering experience, preferably in the life sciences industry.
  • Extensivehands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV, including configuration of controlmodules, equipment modules, phases, and alarm management.
  • Provenexperience delivering or supporting a DeltaV Operate to DeltaV Live migration,ideally within a large-scale or multi-unit manufacturing environment.
  • StrongHMI/graphic design expertise with the ability to develop high-performance,user-centric DeltaV Live displays aligned to ISA-101 principles.
  • Experiencein scripting within graphics environment, particularly with Visual Basic andHTML
  • Demonstratedexperience working in complex, regulated environments (e.g., pharma, biotech,or similar), with an understanding of GMP/GAMP requirements.
  • Solidunderstanding of DeltaV system architecture, integration, and lifecycle projectdelivery (design through to commissioning).
  • Strongproblem-solving skills with experience in troubleshooting systems, graphics, andmigration-related issues.
  • Excellentstakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability tocollaborate cross-functionally and support end-user training and adoption.
