Job Description

IT Azure Senior Data Engineer

This is how your job looks like

  • You are part of the IT Data & AI Team and play a key role in shaping, implementing, and enhancing the Data Lake using Azure Databricks

  • Source Integration: Establish connections to diverse systems via APIs, ODBC, Event Hubs, and sFTP protocols.

  • ETL/ELT Pipelines: Design and optimize data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks

  • Medallion Architecture: Implement Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers using formats like Delta, Parquet, and JSON for data transformation.

  • Data Modeling: Develop and optimize data models using star schema and slowly changing dimensions for analytics and operations.

  • Data Governance: Ensure robust data security with Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Unity Catalog.

  • Performance Optimization: Tune pipelines, optimize queries, and implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, IT team, and business stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions. As Azure Sr. Data Engineer you'll collaborate with their partners and BME, the parent company, and play a pivotal role in driving the digital transformation.

The experience and knowledge you bring

  • Experience: At least 5+ years as an Azure Data Engineer.

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Proficiency with Azure Data Factory, Databricks and Azure Storage.

    • Strong skills in SQL, Python, and data modelling techniques.

    • Familiarity with data formats like Parquet and JSON.

    • Experience with AI/ML model management on Azure Databricks.

    • Education: Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.

    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate

    • Language Skills: Fluency in Dutch and English is mandatory. French is a plus.

    • Knowledge of PowerBI is a plus.

Practical Considerations:
