Role Overview

15 Marketing is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join its hybrid team in Watford. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining advanced data infrastructure and pipelines that support business-critical insights across marketing, product, and compliance. The successful candidate will drive innovation in data architecture while mentoring junior team members and delivering scalable, real-time data solutions for the iGaming sector.

What You'll Do:
  • Design, implement, and maintain robust ETL pipelines for diverse data sources including Facebook, Google Analytics, and payment providers
  • Build and optimise data models for both batch processing and real-time streaming using AWS Redshift, S3, and Kafka
  • Lead data acquisition, processing, and provisioning initiatives aligned with evolving business needs
  • Conduct customer behaviour and gaming analytics to generate actionable insights
  • Oversee data infrastructure monitoring, maintenance, and administration
  • Guide and mentor junior engineers, promoting a culture of learning and experimentation
  • Ensure adherence to data security, governance, and compliance standards
Qualification / Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering with a track record of team leadership
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Deep expertise in AWS (Redshift, S3, EC2, Lambda)
  • Hands-on experience with Kafka and real-time streaming technologies
  • Strong understanding of API data integration and ETL pipeline design
  • Knowledge of data compliance, governance, and security best practices
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and translate data concepts into business insights
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of driving process improvements independently
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Engineering)
  • Familiarity with the iGaming industry or experience in high-growth, fast-paced environments
