Our client
Our client, a leading ISP and Network Provider in Utrecht, is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their passionate in-house development team. They are heavily investing in their data infrastructure, leveraging the full Microsoft Azure stack.
The Role
You will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining robust data infrastructure that powers business intelligence and reporting. This is a hands-on role where you'll also contribute to architectural decisions, ensuring data is accessible, reliable, and supports organizational decision-making. Your strong expertise in Azure and data engineering best practices will be key.
Tasks & responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Data Factory and other relevant tool;
- Implement data models, data warehouses, and data lakes to support reporting, analytics, and business intelligence need;
- Work with diverse data sources (databases, APIs, external data feeds) to ingest and integrate data into the data warehouses;
- Transform raw data into structured, usable formats for analytics and reporting;
- Collaborate closely with data analysts and reporting specialists to ensure data accuracy and availability for Power BI reporting;
- Implement and monitor data quality processes and enforce data governance policies;
- Troubleshoot data-related issues and provide technical guidance to team members.
Your Profile
- At least five years of hands-on experience in a data engineering role;
- Proven, strong experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, and other Azure data services;
- Strong experience in building and maintaining ELT pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes.
- Proficiency in SQL and data modeling;
- Experience with programming languages like Python for data processing tasks;
- Familiarity with Power BI integration;
- A proactive, solution-oriented attitude, with a passion for building robust data systems and the ability to act as a data architect;
- An absolute team player with strong communication skills, able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and actively participate in team events, fitting a scale-up culture.
- Ability to work on-site in the Utrecht area for 4 days a week;
- Only candidates currently living in the Netherlands will be considered.
