Job Description
Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs. Document and translate business requirements into technical delivery plans using Azure DevOps.
  • Maintain & create data models that support self-service data reporting from SNG's central data platform, using standard modelling techniques.
  • Lead the delivery of data projects, ensuring timely release, scope management, and effective change management.
  • Act as a change champion by providing user support during and after the move to production. Develop training materials and build a network of super-users across the organisation.
  • Mentor junior analysts and officers, helping them develop best practices for data modelling and report development.
  • Identify and address any challenges impacting data solutions, and participate in post-release reviews to ensure solutions continue to support business goals.
About you:
  • Proficiency in PowerBI (including DAX) and SQL querying.
  • Strong experience with star schema data modelling.
  • Familiarity with tools like SQL Server Management Studio and Azure DevOps.
  • Excellent understanding of database design, table joins, views, and functions.
  • Ability to design self-service dashboards for business users.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of data accuracy, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance.
