This redevelopment explores how Welsh communities, cultures and environments have been shaped by coastal and maritime worlds.

As a member of NWMS' curatorial team, the post holder will work closely with colleagues across Amgueddfa Cymru disciplines and departments, to support the delivery of this transformation. The role will ensure that the collection, research and interpretation for the new displays are developed to support the themes explored at the museum using the collecting methodologies outlined in the Collection Development Strategy 2023-28.

Main Purpose of job

To contribute curatorial expertise to the redevelopment of NWMS, shaping how maritime histories are presented through the theme 'Living with the Sea.' The postholder will work collaboratively to connect maritime material culture; develop narrative content for new galleries with a range of diverse stakeholders; support community participation and co curation; ensure interpretation reflects diverse voices and experiences; contribute research that positions Wales within wider global, coastal and marine stories; and align collecting and interpretation with organisational strategies underpinned by anti racist principles.
