Job Description
Senior Controls Engineer
Abbott Diabetes Care has opened a new site in Kilkenny, Ireland, focusing on the manufacturing of FreeStyle blood glucose test strips and FreeStyle Sensors. This role is based in that location.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop automation systems and processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and objectives.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for automation solutions.
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of automation systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to automation equipment and software.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Provide training and support to end-users on the operation and maintenance of automation systems.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in automation technology and industry trends.
- Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 5 years of experience in automation engineering, with a proven track record of successful automation projects in the medical device industry.
- Strong knowledge of automation systems, PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA systems.
- Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Codesys software.
