The Building Regulations Act 2022 is a crucial piece of legislation in the UK aimed at enhancing building safety standards and establishing a more robust regulatory framework for the construction and management of buildings. Senior Consultant ResponsibilitiesLead medium to complex BSA and Principal Designer projects, taking ownership of project scope, programme, quality, and commercial performance, while escalating high-risk or strategically sensitive matters to a Principal or Associate.
- Managing design compliance with Building Regulations, chair design compliance workshops, and ensure all outcomes are accurately recorded and tracked.
- Provide clear, consistent, and confident technical advice to clients and design teams, ensuring compliance and maintaining strong professional relationships.
- Delivering high quality BSA documentation, reports, and project deliverables, ensuring all outputs meet required standards.
- Monitoring and reporting on project financials, accurately forecasting resource utilisation, hours, and recovery.
- Supporting and mentoring Consultants and Technical Administrators, providing constructive feedback and guidance to develop skills and confidence.
- Review project deliverables to ensure technical accuracy and alignment with organisational standards and best practice.
- Identify project level risks and opportunities, taking action within your control and escalating complex or high risk issues appropriately.
- Contribute to fee proposals and bid preparation, providing technical input and insight where required.
- Actively participate in team problem solving, process improvement, and knowledge sharing to support continuous improvement across projects.

- Proven experience in either construction, design or building control, showcasing a solid understanding of the intricacies involved in these areas.
- Have a good understanding of Building Regulations, allowing for informed decision making in compliance with legal standards.
- Demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for innovation and collaboration, coupled with a drive towards achieving excellence in building safety practices.
- Have some basic understanding of project finances, forecasting and commercial management.
- Strong teamwork capabilities with a proactive mindset that fosters a commitment to excellence in all deliverables.
- Dedication to providing a superior client experience, ensuring all interactions reflect professionalism and respect for client needs.
- Professional accreditation such as RIBA, ARB, MCIAT, Cabe, MCIOB, CIBSE, ICE, IStrUce etc.
- Ability to operate effectively under tight deadlines, demonstrating exceptional time management skills while juggling multiple responsibilities.
